PRO Identifiers — IPI, ISWC, Split Sheets

When you sign up with BMI or ASCAP you'll be assigned identifiers that follow your work everywhere:

• IPI (Interested Parties Information) — international ID for songwriters and publishers. Separate from your PRO account number. This is the number you need for your work and collaborations.
• Split Sheet — the document that lists every contributor: name, PRO, IPI, percentage, address, phone, signature.
• ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code) — unique permanent reference number for the composition. Issued after you register the song.

Together these make up your metadata — the dataset that ensures every collaborator gets paid.
