Metadata & the BMI 200% Scale
Metadata lists every contributor to a song. It dictates who gets paid by every PRO. All parties must agree — disagreement leads to court.
Percentages are negotiable based on contribution. BMI uses a 200% scale (100% writer + 100% publisher); ASCAP uses a 100% scale.
Example — Two artists splitting 50/50 (BMI)
